Happy Labor Day! Can you believe it’s already September? I don’t know about you guys, but I’m actually starting to get really excited for the crisper air that’s (hopefully) just around the corner. I’m sure I’ll be regretting that statement soon, but for now I’m excited to share a fun early fall look that I’ve created in partnership with the Old Navy!
As part of their 50 Styles 50 States campaign, I’m so proud to be repping my home state of Delaware. (If you had to take a hot second to think about where Delaware is, don’t worry. I’ve had people ask me if Delaware is a city in Florida. #facepalm) Home to many important natural resources like tax-free shopping, several Wawa’s, gorgeous beaches, and of course, Joe Biden, the First State packs a lot of goodness into a very small amount of geographical space. From the beautiful landscapes to o the historical sites in New Castle County, I’ve drawn so much inspiration from the people living in these unique pockets of the First State and the many visitors that come to experience these local spots for themselves.
Growing up in northern Delaware, with its year-round unpredictable weather, I also mastered the art of layering. It has always my go-to styling trick for seasonal transitions. This floral printed swing dress is perfect for late summer and can easily be taken into fall with a pair of booties and lightweight jacket layered over it. I also recommend pairing your summer pieces with more fall colors like olive, burgundy and camel to transition a piece into the new season.
While I was home a few weeks ago visiting family and friends, I couldn’t resist shooting this look on the green at the University of Delaware to pay homage to my days as one of UD’s first style gurus for College Fashionista. I was a Fashion Merchandising major and having the opportunity to walk around campus and capture street style of my peers for my weekly column was both challenging and so inspiring. It’s what first gave me the courage to launch Style Tab!
