The lights at the end of the Christmas tunnel are getting closer by the minute. Not gonna lie, I’m a little stressed about it. In fact, I’ve only just started my Christmas shopping today. Instead of chalking it up to procrastination, I’m convincing myself that it was strategic move – I was waiting for tax-free shopping in my home state of Delaware. Whether you’re being a strategic procrastinator or just like to avoid shopping like the plague, I’m sure there are a few of you out there that are in the same boat as me. Thankfully, most retailers were expecting shoppers like us this year and are offering up pretty sweet shipping deals to get gifts to our doorsteps by the 24th. (Muchas gracias parcel carriers!)

Now that we’ve overcome the denial of how close we are to day 25, time to figure out what we’re actually going to buy. When it comes to buying gifts for my mom, girlfriends and other special females in my life, it’s a cake walk. I’m usually pretty in tune with what their style is, what they need, and/or who their favorite brands are. The guys on the other hand, that’s always a bit trickier. My dad, brother and boyfriend are all pretty low-key when it comes to gift-giving but somehow I always struggle with it. My dad and bro usually end sending me links to things they want, which can take the fun out of it sometimes, but I’d rather get them something they want rather than hope for the best. For the boyfriend, I usually have to do some serious thinking for him, but I typically come up with something pretty snazzy at the 11th hour. What can I say, I work better under pressure sometimes! For those of you that are still stumped on what to get the males in your life for the holidays this year, I’ve put together a full-proof gift guide of items that you can’t go wrong with and you can get either in-store or order with express shipping ASAP to get it by the 24th. So get to shopping below and feel free to tweet me any gifting questions you have!
Last Minute Gifts for Men
A watch: Who doesn’t love a good watch? It’s functional and good looking. One of my new favorite brands is Hamilton Watch. Their tagline? American Spirit, Swiss Precision. Their timepieces are made in Switzerland, but have a rich U.S. heritage. Best of both worlds, don’t you think? Hamilton has been equipping the military with watches since the First World War and had its first movie product placement in the 1951. More recently, Hamilton watches have appeared in Pearl Harbor, all three Men In Black movies, and one of my favorite new movies, The Martian. Comfortable footwear: My boyfriend believes in the idea that he only needs about 5 pairs of shoes in his closet, and most of those pairs have come from me via a gift, or after nagging him enough to purchase them. I’m sure there are some guys out there that would agree with his practicality, but I beg to differ. You can never have too many comfortable shoes in my book, so you can’t go wrong by picking up the dude in your life a fresh pair of sneaks or some cozy slippers for the colder nights ahead.
Drinkware (and accessories): Drinking is a beloved past time of many, so you really can’t go wrong with this category. Buying drinkware for a guy is pretty easy, even if you’re not totally sure what his go-to beverage is. It’s even easier if his go-to drink is high-quality H2O. Whether you’re picking up a set of glasses or a fun party game like, Wheel of Shots, chances are whatever gift you choose will definitely be put to use!
Outerwear/Accessories: Even if the dude you’re buying for isn’t a mountain climber, chances are he could use a new half-zip sweater or maybe even a new pair of iPhone-friendly gloves. Winter apparel, if not properly taken care of, can lose it’s quality pretty quickly, so if you notice your brother’s been wearing that same, raggedy black beanie year after year, help him mix it up with one in a cool color or his favorite sports team.
Luggage: Whether you’re looking to splurge on a carry-on for the jet-setting guy or just looking to update his gym bag, luggage is alway a great gift. Things could get tricky if you’re trying to pick out the right color or fabric, so stick with safe neutrals like black, grey or brown if you’re unsure. Fabrics like leather, nylon, canvas, or heavy-duty polyester will hold up perfectly to normal wear and tear.
Tech/Toys: When all else fails, tech is always my safe, backup category. Who can say no to bluetooth speakers or a mini drone? Just be sure you know what the guy already owns. For example, is he team Android or iPhone?
What do you think of these gift ideas? What gifts do you like to get for the men in your life?
