I don’t know about you, but I was on one very emotional Oscars roller coaster last night! Patricia Arquette, John Legend and Common, and Graham Moore gave extraordinarily moving acceptance speeches. Neil Patrick Harris made me LOL a lot. One winner wore a very ball-sy dress. Chris Pine cried. Lady Gaga surprised us all with an amazing Sound of Music tribute. The Julie Andrews came out on stage after it. (I preceded to freak out.) And finally, my boyfriend and I tallied up the ballot prediction scores and I lost by a landslide. Halfway through the show I also found this very important Tumblr, Oscars Hoagies. I would segue into my favorites from the red carpet, but then we’d be here all day. So, moving on…
After reading through multiple March issues of fashion magazines I received in the mail last week, I’ve made the executive decision to be done with winter. I’m ready for some color and fabrics that aren’t wool or fleece. Pastels are perfect for transitioning from winter to spring because they’re relevant in both seasons and you can easily find weather appropriate items in these pretty shades. Even if you still need to wear your typical winter uniform, you can give it a refreshing boost with a pastel accessory, like this lilac beanie, or a pair of pastel denim to contrast your dark outerwear.
How do you feel about wearing pastels in the winter?
