Happy December! I think this might be the first time ever that I’m not completely perplexed by how fast time has flown by. I’ve been taking some time for myself over the last month and it’s helped me remain much more present in my day-to-day, so I can definitely say I was mentally prepared for it. It may also have to do with the fact that December is my birthday month and I’m pretty excited to celebrate my 26th this weekend! The only bad thing about December is the slight chance of snow. I’m still not ready. Last winter was absolutely brutal and I did not have the proper gear for the elements. Luckily, I got ahead of the game this year with a new winter coat and some SOREL boots.
Over this past summer I became a mega fan of SOREL boots after testing out their fall collection. Their winter collection is equally as impressive. I now currently have a short snow boot, a tall snow boot and these gorgeous rain boots that do not look like rain boots in the slightest (winner!). The latter are called the Medina III and I am obsessed. These babies slide on easily and the ankle strap adds support for stomping around the city. I was a little skeptical of the heel at first, but they’re surprisingly comfortable thanks to the arch support. They’re made of waterproof vulcanized rubber so heavy rainfall will be no problemo.
To be honest, I have a feeling I’ll be wearing these boots way more than just in the rain. I’d seen them paired with a dress and skinny denim before, so naturally I thought I’d try them out with some of the boldest tights I own. To keep with the somewhat mod theme I went with an exposed pocket mini skirt (aren’t pockets the best?) and a turtleneck. Except I didn’t stop there (gasp!), I decided to throw on a cropped sweater for an extra bit of warmth and because I just loved how the colors paired together. I’ll most likely be wearing this look again to my next brunch date or museum visit, because that’s what I like to think 26 year olds do in their wise age.
If you want to give the Medina III a test drive yourself and you live in the Greater Boston Area, you’re in luck my friend. SOREL has recently opened a brand new store in the Burlington Mall! Many of the styles shown below are also available in the store. I highly recommend checking them out before the Mother Nature throws us through a snowy loop again. After you pick up a pair be sure to snap an Insta and tag @sorelfootwear, #SORELstyle and me @styletab so I can see which pair you chose!
P.S. If you have any questions about SOREL boots just leave a note in the comments. I’m happy to help!
