Last Saturday, Space 57 at the Revere Hotel was packed with lights, cameras and a catwalk. Her Campus’s annual College Fashion Week event kicked off it’s first of four shows in Boston, and I had the pleasure of attending the show on behalf of Milani Cosmetics. Over 600 stylish attendees filled the space to mingle, strike a pose in the photobooth, get their brows perfected, and dig into a custard bar from Shake Shack. Meanwhile backstage, models were getting their hair braided, curled and/or styled into pigtails. The makeup looks ranged from both fresh faced and natural, to bold lips and dramatic cat eyes, courtesy of Milani.
Milani is the official beauty sponsor of College Fashion Week and they couldn’t be a more perfect fit for one the biggest college fashion events of the year. Milani’s products are influenced by the vibrant culture of Milan, and their use of both bold and natural colors beautifully complimented the millenial looks that came down the runway. I personally love how achievable these beauty looks are and everyone’s skin looked #flawless. (Keep scrolling to see for yourself!)
The fall trends that came down the runway included:
- Feminine Minimalist: A mix of girly blush, white and pastel tones in luxurious textiles and structured accessories.
- The 70s: This one is pretty self-explanatory, and I’m obviously a fan of the bohemian vibes.
- Menswear: One of my favorite trends that just won’t quit, this trend included tailored printed pants, oversized silhouettes and elevated business casual looks.
- Modern Punk: Plaid paired with leather and sprinkled with studs, this trend is was blend of edgy, tough fabrics in feminine silhouettes.
As for my outfit, I went the metallic route with a gold pleated skirt from Kate Spade Saturday (RIP) and sleevless turtleneck. I rounded out my ensemble with leopard print wedges and some statement jewels, for subtly bold vibe. Overall, I had an absolute blast at College Fashion Week. The runway outfits were very on trend and I’ll be trying out the beauty looks for myself this season. College Fashion Week is on the move to NYC this Saturday, DC on 10/17 and Atlanta on 10/24. There’s still time to register for the DC and ATL shows if you’re interested in attending!
