This past Friday, on a somewhat spontaneous trip, my boyfriend and I made our way to NYC for the day to catch the last weekend of the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After a few pit stops along the way (photoshoot with the naked cowboy etc) we made it over to the Met around 3:30 and were pretty pumped when we were able to cut the never ending line outside with our temporary membership card (courtesy of the boyfriend’s super cool uncle).

Such a long line when we left! |
Our excitement quickly went out the window when we were greeted by the 2 hour line to get in to the exhibit upstairs but it was totally worth it, obvi. The show has been ranked as the eighth most popular visit in the museum’s last 141 years with a total of 661, 509 visitors, according to Foxnews.com.
Here’s a roundup of my favorite pieces from the exhibit…

Oyster dress–spring/summer 2003. Chiffon, georgette and hundreds of layers of silk organza. One of his more “softer” creations.
I could put every picture of every piece that was in the exhibit. It was all truly breathtaking.
Long live McQueen!
