Happy Monday! I’m gonna ignore the fact that it took me five days to get my act together and put up my first post of 2014. (whoopsies!) To be fair, I was recovering from my many brutal wipeouts that occurred while snowboarding in Killington on New Year’s day. I’ll leave out the gory details. Anyways, I hope everyone has had a wonderful New Year so far! So as you can see, Boston and the rest of the Northeast corridor is now a frozen tundra. To be honest I don’t remember the last time I experienced negative temperatures and god awful wind chills like we did the past few days. I was really hoping every time I had to go outside someone would magically appear and bundle me up like Ralphie’s little brother in A Christmas Story.
Much to my dismay, this never happened so this look is pretty much what I’ve been living in–both inside and out (thanks a lot drafty windows). When it’s this cold out, you gotta make sure you cover all the bases:
Ears: The headscarf-inspired ear warmers have been my absolute favorite this year. I picked my oversized style up at Urban Outfitters. The embellished ones are really fun, too!
Fingahs: Most of my coats and hats are neutral solid, colors so I like gloves in fun prints and colors. These leopard print ones from South Moon Under are surprisingly warm for how thin they are and they’re iPhone friendly!
Neck: I have the same mentality about scarves as I do for gloves. This metallic snood is a cool alternative to the typical printed chunky scarf.
Toes: The most important in my book! I recently found my one true love: fleece-lined tights. These things are life changing. Throw on some over-the-knee socks over them with your favorite wellies or snow boots and you’re ready to take on those barely shoveled sidewalks.
What’re your go-to snow storm items? Hope everyone is staying warm!
