A few days ago my boyfriend took me on a little detour to Castle Island in South Boston before heading out of the city. It’s on the shore of the Boston Harbor and home to Fort Independence, which to my disappointment, is not an actual castle. But it’s been around since 1634 so there’s your American history fact of the day! I did a little tourist-y walk around the island (yes, I embrace the tourist lifestyle and all jokes that come with it) and was able to snap some sunset photos in the process.
I’m a sucker for sunsets, as cliché as that is, but they’re just so darn pretty. I was channeling my inner grandma this day and opted for a lightweight knit cardigan with a dress from the LC Lauren Conrad collection for Kohl’s. Lately, I’ve really been into mixing textures and the fuzzy knit against the smooth pleats made for a great combo. I kept my accessories minimal with straw flats, my go-to sunglasses and a dainty initial necklace, also from the LC collection (can you tell I like LC?). This outfit was a bit summer-y for an October day in Boston, but it was almost 80 degrees and I had to soak in that last bit of summer warmth before fall took over for good!
