It’s the most wonderful time of the year: fall shoe season! Being a college student the majority of my shoe shopping will be geared towards shoes that can weather my walk to and from classes and everywhere in between. So I figured why not do a round-up of all the possible flats available? One of my favorite shoe trends for fall is definitely the loafer, and making a comeback (I’m happy to report) is the ever practical oxford. While both of these shoe types have an initial androgynous connotation, there are many more feminine options out there. Can’t forget about ballet flat or the lace up boot either! I’ve also thrown in some more comfortable choices such as moccasins and sneakers too. Get ready for some serious stylish comfort. Enjoy!

The Loafer: Your New Best Friend
Loafers are the perfect answer for those of us who are looking for an updated look as opposed to the usual basic flats and still have feminine appeal. Dress them up with a midi skirt and blouse combo for work or an interview. Dress them down in skinny jeans or a t-shirt dress for those casual sunday shopping adventures.

The Ballet Flat: Your Tried and True Companion
We all own a pair (or 10) and we can’t get enough of them. Ballet flats are always my first go-to shoe for almost any occasion–school, work, interview and more. They are cute, practical and won’t leave you limping home barefoot after leaving the bar at 2 a.m. The forecast is calling for rich hues in fabrics such as suede, tweed and lace for fall and I couldn’t be happier.

The Lace-Up Boot: Your Ride Or Die Bitch
Deep down we all have that tough chick inside that’s just begging to be unleashed. Now you can let her loose via your feet. My favorite way to wear a rustic ankle boot is with a feminine maxi dress or denim cut-offs. As for the more polished boot? I’m partial to tucking my dark skinny jeans into them and adding a cozy poncho on top for a bohemian look.

The Oxford: Your Friend For Every Season
It seems that the oxford simply just can’t part with the fashion world, since they’re made from a multitude of fabrics for all year long wear. Whether you’ll be taking your crochet oxfords from spring into fall or looking for a nice suede pair more appropriate for the cooler temps, you won’t have to worry about sacrificing comfort for style (and vice versa). Oxfords can give a girly outfit a touch of masculinity or up the ante on a more edgy ensemble. They’re quite negotiable.

The Sneaker/Boat Shoe/ Moccassin: Your Laid-Back Buddy
Whether you’re studying, heading to a football tailgate or just catching up with friends on a coffee date, these shoes are the perfect choice for casual cool. They come in a variety of fun colors, patterns, styles and can really add some punch to your typical jeans and a t-shirt uniform. Not to mention they rank at around 110 on the comfort scale. It’s no wonder your feet never get in a fight with them!
