Happy Friday! I don’t know about you guys, but the summer has been flying for me. I meant to start recapping Firefly over a week ago, but life has been a pretty packed schedule as of late. Anyways, this year’s Firefly recap will be a three part series because it was just way too much fun and I have a decent amount of pictures to share. For those of you who don’t know, Firefly is a musical festival in Dover, DE. This was their third year and they opted to make it four days this year, which actually worked out pretty well for my crew. We bought premier camping and got to set up our campsite Wednesday night, so we didn’t deal with any crazy traffic getting into the festival.
I started off day one to the alarm clock of a spider crawling across my stomach. Yup, you read that right. After yelping for 20 seconds I killed that spider only to realize there were about 30 baby spiders in the same corner. Pretty sure I woke up all the other campers within a 100 yard radius of us at that point. It was really fun. Other than that, the first day of Firefly was a very laid back atmosphere. The festival didn’t actually open until 5pm so we spent the day getting acclimated with our campsite with Bud Lights in hand. We saw Parade of Lights, Aer and one of my friends went back in at night to see Local Natives. I really liked that we had the evening to familiarize ourselves with the festival grounds, and most importantly, scope out the food and beverage stands. I was very pleased with the food choices. I think I went to the falafel stand about four times over the course of the weekend. #betcheslovefalafel
