Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone is having a fabulous long weekend. So can we talk about how this summer FLEW by? I feel like everyone always says that at the end of a season, but I seriously don’t know what I did this summer. I only went to the beach ONCE (excluding vacation) which is pretty sad. This is what I wore on that one, solitary beach day. If you’ve been out in public at all the past 3 months you’re well aware that high-waisted bottoms were (and still are) all the rage–swimwear included!
In middle school, I read the book Gidget and was hooked. I love looking at old 60s swimwear ads and magazine spreads of gals frolicking around in chic one pieces and high-waisted bikinis decked out in frills and floral prints. I’m excited for these styles to creep back into the trend cycle. Of course they’ve gotten a modern day makeover, like mine with lace cutouts. I probably should’ve written this post in well, June, but I’ll play this off as a little trend forecasting for next summer. (The spring shows are starting next week, so I’m not that crazy for thinking about next summer) You could also stock up on suits with all these Labor Day sales, too! Shopping or no shopping, I hope you’re all out BBQing and/or enjoying one more beach today! Cheers!
