Happy Wednesday! This week has been a lot more lively than usual for me. No, not because there’s a new prince in the world. Ok fine, that is partially why, but I also have a few fun blogging opportunities coming up and I am super pumped about them!! One of them has to be kept under wraps for now, but the other is that I’ll be heading back to St. Louis Fashion Week in October! If you’ve been with me for a while you probably saw my recap of when I attended in the Spring. I am so excited to be heading back to the heartland to discover new shops, designers and friends.
The reason I bring this up is because I found such an awesome boutique on my first trip called Ziezo. It opened its doors in STL more than 30 years ago and I picked up this dress from them back in March. Lindsay of Heartland Underdog convinced me to buy it and I’m so glad she did! I particularly love the texture of this dress. I’m getting really tired of the super sheer and silky fabrics that have been on the racks for multiple seasons. The overlaying fabric has a gritty hand and gives the dress just the slightest bit of punk feel to it. (I know that’s kind of a stretch but let’s go with it) I added a few feminine accessories to contrast that and I really like how this look turned out. I have a feeling punk is going to have a moment within the next few seasons; especially since that was the theme of this year’s Met Ball. How do you feel about punk style? Would you try it if it became trendy again?
