Happy Monday! A few weeks ago I trekked down to D.C. for pre-birthday celebrations for one of my besties and attended the Sweetlife Music Festival. The festival is run by one of my favorite salad joints, Sweet Green, and it was fantastic day filled with music, friends and food. The schedule included some of my favorite bands including, but not limited to: Bastille (they were so good live!), Fitz and the Tantrums, Bombay Bicycle Club, Chromeo and Spirit Animal. The headliners were Lana Del Rey and Foster The People. Unfortunately, Foster got rained out for us since we only bought lawn seats. Torrential downpour after song number three forced us to head out early, but I got to see Lana twice in one week so that totally made up for the early departure.
In terms of festival attire, a kimono was a no brainer given the weather forecast. Kimonos have been a festival fashion staple this year and it’s easy to see why. They’re comfy, warm weather apropo, and come in tons of fun prints. I also wore my obligatory flower crown and round sunglasses to bring out my inner hippie child. My crown is actually two thinner crowns that I intertwined together (and added some buttercups on festival day for more color). I’ve got one more festival on my schedule in a few weeks, so get ready for more festival fashion on here soon! Are you attending any festivals this summer? What’s your go-to festival look?
